SSDS -Another Challenge!

Today's card is a sentiment only card.
Well, at least a sentiment and no image card. I had to add a little bling in the ribbon! I just had to!
But isn't this sentiment great! I love it. It's from Squigglefly and I've used it several times, but I imagine a lot of people only think about putting a sentiment like this on the back of the card - NOT ME! I want it right out there in front!
You'll be finding my two Saturday blog posts flipping around a little for a while. I now post on Saturdays for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps also - so you'll never know which one will be on top! I like to mix things up a bit!
Hope you are having a great weekend day and run over to the blog and check out all the other projects - there are some great ones -- I sneaked a peek earlier!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps!

Here's my first official post for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps!
Well, actually I think the official one is on the the 2 Cute Rubber blog, but what the heck!
I just love these manatees. So playful. And I love the little crabby guy too. This designer paper made me think of waves, so that's why I chose it. And I started out with a nestability and then decided to trim out the grasses or whatever. I like doing things a little differently!
And some more news for you.... if you head over there now you can get some YUMMY cupcake freebies! They are so tiny and cute!
Have a great Saturday!

Here's another little card for the challenge over at The Stamping Boutique! I'd love to win their prize of 5 new images!!

Dare to be Sassy Thursday

Here's my card for the Dare to be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Design Studios and this time the challenge was to "Freestyle" or create whatever I wanted! So I did!
I love the little cameo's of their images, and I have several. Of course, I love their larger ones too, including a couple freebies I got just the other night (thanks ladies)!!
But I've been seeing so many Halloween cards out there, I thought I'd do my bit! And these fit perfectly!

I've been published in Scrapstreet!

Well, a card of mine has been anyway!
We were told to make a card that fits the title: Heat Wave!
And this is what I came up with! It's a Chesney Young image from Squigglefly (I was on the Squigglefly DT at the time!). Following my most usual clean and simple cards, this was a breeze. I used Glossy Accents to mimic the sweat on the glass and in the ice cubes.
Notice too that the designer paper (Me and my Big Ideas) has the phrase Heat Wave in it!! I underlined it for emphasis.
Anyway, to check out the other projects, go to Blog Bay at Scrapstreet to check out all the other projects and a little discussion with Regina who is our leader at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge!

A card for Roy...

I apologize for the quality (or lack) of the photo, but I wanted to post this card because of the note I received from Lilly.
I had just kept a copy of the card for myself (I try to keep photos of most of the cards I've made) and never really intended to post about it. I've sent many cards like this as encouragement to people, not to put on the blog.
You see, I've been sending a few cards now and then to Roy & Lilly for encouragement especially to her husband (and she doesn't mind!!). And today, she sent a lovely note back saying he really has enjoyed this card since he cannot make it to the beaches any more. Now... I had no idea that he loved the beach, but when I saw this image, I just thought it would make a nice card for Roy. So I made the card and mailed it. How simple is that. But evidently it brought enjoyment to him, which was my focus. I'm so happy that it did!
They are going through some extremely difficult times. You can learn more about Roy and their struggles by checking out Lilly's blog . I encourage any cardmaker to do this, and then get busy and help by sending a card of encouragement to their whole family. They could certainly use it now! Prayers wouldn't hurt either!!
Also, I must apologize as I cannot remember where I found this freebie image. As soon as I saw it, I printed it and used it on this card and evidently didn't make note of it. Sorry! The sentiment says: Life's a Beach!....and sometimes you get a little sand in your bum; shore hope you are feeling better!

TLC challenge today...

I'm playing along with TLC Today! Love their freebies! So generous.
Go check them out, if you haven't already. I chose not to use the sentiment with this one, as I don't have a place for it yet, and I may come up with something else - depending on who I send it to.
Love the glitter on the pearl! And I just realized that I'm not a good photographer (actually, I knew that already!) but I didn't realize that the background blends into the brown on the bottom of the card - hummmmm, oh well, I must get working on that stupid light box I'm trying to make.
Have fun!

SSDS - Clean and Simple

This is my favorite kind of card!
So easy and simple, you can do it in a flash and sometimes that's most helpful! I've had many times I need a card lickety split and this does the job, at least for me.
All the DT member have fantastic projects for you this time around (course, they always do actually - but they love being told it - so what the heck!!).
Please come join us for this challenge and you have a chance at winning some goodies (see below photo) from CraftBrulee (God, I love that name!).

DT callout for new Challenge Blog

Crafty Emma is going to start a Challenge Blog, and is having a DT callout right now - limited time. Must respond by August 8. She's hoping to add 6, but there are already 60! Here's are the simple rules: 1 - Create a project every two weeks, post on your blog to promote the challenge and also my store; 2 - Comment on challenge entries on a rota basis; 3 - Take your turn to set the theme and write up the challenge post; 4 - Have fun!!

New challeng blog starting...

Here are the cute little stamps you could win if you are lucky on September 7 when the new Challenge Blog opens called Top Tip Tuesday!

EpiphanyArt-Stamping Boutique

OK,Tracey put out a challenge, and I'm up for it. Plus, I could win 5 new images, and that's something that appeals to me!!

She wanted us to use the new freebie from PCP Stamping Boutique and make a card and post it in two other places besides the PCP Stamping Boutique. So here on my blog is one, and I'll put this on Splitcoaststampers too.

I love this cute little image, and so it really wasn't a challenge or anything, just a kind of dare.... Hope my name is drawn on August 5.

Another challenge - Cute Card Thursday 123

Here's my entry into the
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 123 - texting crazy
! I have someone in mind for this card - and he's not that great a handyman, but he does try! So I think this fits!
You were allowed to use a small image, but texting was to be the focus, and I think I accomplished that nicely with this clean and simple card!
Go check it out! I've seen some lovely things being posted.

A card for a challenge...

Here's a little card I made for
The Stamping Boutique
challenge this month.

I love this little Beetle!
I consider this card finished, but I probably will put a stamped message like Happy Birthday or just hello or something when I actually send it to someone.
I used to see one just this color of bright pink around town a long time ago. Wonder what happened to it? Maybe the driver got one of the New Ones!

SSDS Challenge today!

Hi everyone. Well, it's another
SSDS Challenge
day today.
We have a friend who is adopting a baby (within a few weeks) so I thought I'd be smart and make this card ahead of time!
I'm assuming some of the co-workers will have a baby shower for her ahead of the arrival, but we'll see. I'm prepared!
Go check out all the other DT blogs (they are listed on the left) and see what lovely projects they have prepared, and then join in. You know you'd love to win some Meljen images, wouldn't you? Well, here's your chance!

Sweet Sketch #59

Here's my card for Sweet Sketch #59 Wednesday . It's a cute sketch, and I had this sentiment ready for something, and it fit perfectly! How often does that happen?

The crocheted flower is some of my blog candy I received from HOLLY!
I love it. I need to find out if she sells those!

The sentiment is from Squigglefly. The paper is from Nana's Nursery Set actually.

SSDS Challenge has returned...

Meljen is our sponsor this week, and she always has such great images (with lots of freebies too!) The challenge is to use Animals! I love this little donkey which was designed especially for Michelle.

I chose to use an expletive to describe him, but it's because of who I am sending this card to.
I try to always make cards that I'll actually be using, not just simply one for the challenge, so sometimes the sentiment is a little strange.

This was fun to color, as are most of Meljen's Designs. If you have not ever checked them out, you should go there now. And, then come and join in with us and you'll get a chance to win some more images!! What could be better than that! (OK, blog candy may be a little better, but this is fun - so join in).

Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical digital images inspired by her kids and family. The Meljen's Designs store officially launched on April 1 and is steadily growing! Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at the WHIMSY STAMPS STORE to browse and enjoy Melissa's wonderful images!

Sassy Studio Designs image

Well, I have to confess. A former classmate of mine recently sent me this sentiment on a day that I really needed something extra!
And I just knew I had to make this card using this cute freebie from Sassy Studio Designs. I really like this image, but hadn't had a specific idea to use it much, but this just seemed to fit!
My husband laughed when he read the card, and he's the kind who doesn't make many comments, except to say, "that's nice."
Sorry the text is small, I had initially wanted to put the "rest of the story" on the inside, but decided to keep it out front - for the particular person I'm sending it to! (you can click on the photo and it increases in size).
Hope you have a great day!! Laugh a little - there's always something out there to get you going!

Pollycraft requests to see freebie use

Pollycraft has asked for those who use their freebies to post them, and I'm one of those users!

I love their images, and they've been very generous with freebies (although I guess I certainly haven't gotten them all from what the blog states! - dang it!)

Anyway, I wanted to be sure to get at least one of mine posted.

So come on, did you ever grab one - get busy and use it (I do think it has to be a new use) but if you want to keep the freebies coming, we need to show them off!! I know you must have grabbed at least one sometime. Find it and get something made and posted!

Here's my entry.

Starting this month, the 2nd Thursday of the month will be S2G-TNT CONTEST WEEK
The contest challenge week The TWIST will always include~a SKETCH!
~just follow the sketch (watch each week for what "other" twists we might add!) and it runs through Wed., July 14th.

You don't have to have their images to play, but they are on my wish list - so maybe I'll win some!

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Meljen's #15 challenge

Here's my card for Challenge #15 -
Circles Galore at Meljen's Designs.
I love these two images, and I found some fantastic circles paper from Nana's Kids with Glitter! How fitting! The circles on the paper are raised (sorry I don't do photos well!) so I just cut the images to fit a couple of the highest circles. So textural and cute.
Oh, and Meljen is an upcoming sponsor of SSDS Challenge too.

Aud Sentiment Challenge #6

Here's my entry into Challenge 6 of Aud Sentiment.
I have to confess, this felt very strange to me. No sentiment!! was the challenge this time around.
And I almost always do a sentiment. In fact, a lot of times that is my starting point.
But.... I think I still conveyed the idea thanks to this lovely image, and some Glossy Accents!!
Thirsty anyone?

Card for Bella!

Here's my card for the Scrap, Stamp and Be Merry Bella Challenge.
Go check it out if you haven't heard about this amazing little girl. Such a great reason to send a card!
The prize is fantastic, but there are so many people who are joining in - I just wanted to be a part of that bunch!
I think the deadline is July 13, with posting of the winner on the 20th. So get busy - you still have time to get your card done and mailed!

Sunday, July 4, 2010

Sassy Studio Design Challenge entry

Here's an entry into the " Sassy Studio Designs Thursday Challenge which is to use something inspired by a wedding. I think this bubbly stuff fits that category.

I'd love to win the stamps prize! I don't have too many of these images, but they are gorgeous!

You have until Wednesday to enter, so go ahead, I can stand the competition!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge returns

Here's my card for the return of the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge. It is a "shape card" without a square or rectangle.

Well, the card is shaped like a house although there is a square inside it. But I had the sentiment needed for a card, and this is what I came up with! I think some of these soldiers returning won't care there is a square inside!

I also have to cheat a little and post my card tonight instead of waiting til tomorrow, as that's my birthday and I have to keep the day free for spontaneous things to happen!!

Actually I got to spend the day with my hubby today as they've asked him to work on the Monday holiday and so he got the day off.
I had hoped we'd go to a movie but that didn't happen. We did go shopping and I got a couple new tops! And just the fact that he stayed shopping for a couple hours, well, if you knew him you'd know that was asking a lot in itself!!

So anyway, Please re-join us this week for this challenge. I love seeing shaped cards, and the DT have come up with some really fantastic ones! Check them out and then join in! There will be prizes!!

Aud Sentiments Challenge candy

Well, I don't really want to share this, but they insist.
There is some candy availale at Aud Sentiments Challenge and it ends on July 6.

Now don't jump over there quickly, stop.... and think about it a while (so I have a better chance at winning!)

Ok, so I'm sorta kidding! I can stand the competition! Go ahead and check it out - just remember who told you about it! And be nice to me if you win!!

Actually, I'm working on a card for their challenge, and you should too.

Another card for a challenge

Here's my card for Isabella's Challenge #13, Summer Fun.

I love this song, Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter, and it definitely reminds me of summer!

Come join the fun at Isabella's Sketchbook before June 29th.

Scrap It With Song Week #11

Here's my entry into the Scrap It With Song Week #11, I can See Clearly Now.
I love this song, of course, the older version than what the blog has posted. Oh, I guess that shows my age, doesn't it? Anyway I thought this cutie was fitting, and I made the raindrops with glossy accents (love that stuff) and she's walking into just cloudy skies. That's what we've been having for a few days now.
Go on, check it out and make a card or a scrapbook page.

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Go check them out, but don't enter.... the competition is stiff enough!! just kiddin!
Go ahead, the more the merrier and the more ideas I can snitch!
Happy Day to you!

Reason for another card...

Patti from Stampersize has posted a great reason for making a card, and I'm joining in, and here's a photo of my card I'm sending.
This poor lady Jessica is bedridden during her pregnancy and is very limited in allowable time out of bed, so something is needed to help cheer her up. What a great excuse to send a card! So... Patti is offering some blog candy in exchange for getting cards for her friend, and it's a great selection of that too!
No limit, so you can keep 'em coming!

My Last Squigglefly Challenge

Well, today is my last Squigglefly Challenge card.
This challenge is to add a touch of Yellow! And this little image with the tag blank is such a good one for this color and for my last image! Tons of things you could write or stamp inside the tag.
This is my last card officially because my DT member time has run out! Six months has just flown by so very quickly. I'm going to miss the whole team and the wonderful owners and especially Holly! BUT - I will try to become a member again! And I'll keep using the wonderful images I have! So you'll definitely see that Squigglefly name here again!!
For now, go get an image and join in the challenge of a touch of yellow.

House Mouse Challenge

Hi everyone. Well, here's my attempt at a challenge card for the House Mouse Challenge #71 of Something Sweet. I don't have many of these stamps, but I did have a few of the Halloween ones, and see, he's carrying his Sweet Candy in the little pumpkin! Well, it works for me!

Go check it out at the blog . I'd love to win a new stamp from Simon Says, and thankfully it's a random thing, since there is some fierce competition!!

Saturday, June 19, 2010

Sweetpea Image

Here's a card I made for the SweetPea challenge. I kept goofing it up, so decided to go minimalistic! I think teh image is cute, but everything I kept trying just wasn't working.
Partly because of the deadline I think, but hey, you gotta go what you gotta do!!
They are introducing some lovely new images, and I'd like to win some!

Hey everyone! Here is my card for this week at the Scrap, Stamp and Doodle Challenge!
But we are also currently going to be taking a short break at the challenge site. Our leader, Regina, has been having some computer issues and been out of touch for a bit, so we decided this would be a good time for a short break.
Please play along with our sketch challenge this week and then be sure to keep checking back with us in a week or two to see what our next challenge will be!

Friday, June 18, 2010

Fun, Sun and summer images!

Here are a couple of cards I've recently made using Squigglefly images. I submitted them for an upcoming Heat Wave spread at Scrapstreet Magazine, and these two were not chosen, so I thought I'd get them on here!

I love this "by the pool" image!! that's where I want to be! It's way too hot around here for me!
Don't you just love those sunglasses button! What a fun accessory!

Thursday, June 17, 2010

High Hopes Stamps

has added a new designer, MELJEN! So now, between Dustin Pike and Melissa Jenkins there should be a character you just love for either girly girls or manly young men! Check it out withtheir new release this Friday, June 18.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

I decided to make an entry into the
Sassy Cheryl's
challenge this week. I think this is a very cute image, and couldn't resist. I used Glossy Accents on the flowers and the bee!
And I, who usually don't make a card unless I have a reason, didn't have one - so this just goes in the stash! I made him so big that he covers almost all the front, so any sentiment will just go inside.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

SSDS Challenge Saturday

Sorry for the very bad photos of my card. Don't know what's up with this, as they both looked the same before I put them up on here, but maybe it's the change I did in the blog. Bear with me a bit! the color is actually the blue!
Anyway, the challenge this week at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge is a "pocket card".
Please go check out the other DT members as they have some fabulous cards for you to see! And don't forget to join in this week's challenge, as there will be prizes from Sweet N Sassy!!

Squigglefly

Hi Everyone. Well, after tons of trouble with Blogger, I'm finally able to get this card to load up.
This is my card for the Squigglefly challenge - Picnic time, using any food or beverage! This is of course the perfect image! And I decided to make this a single layer card.
Let the image speak for itself! Isn't this the perfect setting. Wouldn't you love to have this set up for you and waiting. I know I would.
Come join us in this challenge.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Freebie at Squigglefly!

SSDS - Week 43

Thanks for joining us for another Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Challenge! We always love seeing your beautiful creations each week!

Good morning All! Well, it finally is, as I had trouble loading up this photo of my card and now it works! Finally.
Our challenge this week was for handmade embelishments. Our sponsor this week is Glitz Design. They carry original paper, stickers, rub ons, stamps, rhinestone strips (which they like to call "frosting") and so much more. They have provided an awesome prize package of Glitz Design products.
I'm not too good at a challenge like this. But I'd seen this sentiment somewhere, and I have the perfect person to send it to, so I decided to give it a go. The flowers are made from several different punches, in varying shades of blue.
