Sassy Studio Designs image

Well, I have to confess. A former classmate of mine recently sent me this sentiment on a day that I really needed something extra!

And I just knew I had to make this card using this cute freebie from Sassy Studio Designs. I really like this image, but hadn't had a specific idea to use it much, but this just seemed to fit!

My husband laughed when he read the card, and he's the kind who doesn't make many comments, except to say, "that's nice."

Sorry the text is small, I had initially wanted to put the "rest of the story" on the inside, but decided to keep it out front - for the particular person I'm sending it to! (you can click on the photo and it increases in size).

Pollycraft requests to see freebie use

Pollycraft has asked for those who use their freebies to post them, and I'm one of those users!

I love their images, and they've been very generous with freebies (although I guess I certainly haven't gotten them all from what the blog states! - dang it!)

Anyway, I wanted to be sure to get at least one of mine posted.

So come on, did you ever grab one - get busy and use it (I do think it has to be a new use) but if you want to keep the freebies coming, we need to show them off!! I know you must have grabbed at least one sometime. Find it and get something made and posted!

Circles Galore at Meljen's Designs.

I love these two images, and I found some fantastic circles paper from Nana's Kids with Glitter! How fitting! The circles on the paper are raised (sorry I don't do photos well!) so I just cut the images to fit a couple of the highest circles. So textural and cute.

Oh, and Meljen is an upcoming sponsor of SSDS Challenge too.

Aud Sentiment Challenge #6

Here's my entry into Challenge 6 of Aud Sentiment.

I have to confess, this felt very strange to me. No sentiment!! was the challenge this time around.

And I almost always do a sentiment. In fact, a lot of times that is my starting point.

But.... I think I still conveyed the idea thanks to this lovely image, and some Glossy Accents!!

Card for Bella!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge returns

Here's my card for the return of the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge. It is a "shape card" without a square or rectangle.

Well, the card is shaped like a house although there is a square inside it. But I had the sentiment needed for a card, and this is what I came up with! I think some of these soldiers returning won't care there is a square inside!

I also have to cheat a little and post my card tonight instead of waiting til tomorrow, as that's my birthday and I have to keep the day free for spontaneous things to happen!!

Actually I got to spend the day with my hubby today as they've asked him to work on the Monday holiday and so he got the day off.
I had hoped we'd go to a movie but that didn't happen. We did go shopping and I got a couple new tops! And just the fact that he stayed shopping for a couple hours, well, if you knew him you'd know that was asking a lot in itself!!

Anyway I thought this cutie was fitting, and I made the raindrops with glossy accents (love that stuff) and she's walking into just cloudy skies. That's what we've been having for a few days now.

Reason for another card...

Patti from Stampersize has posted a great reason for making a card, and I'm joining in, and here's a photo of my card I'm sending.

This poor lady Jessica is bedridden during her pregnancy and is very limited in allowable time out of bed, so something is needed to help cheer her up. What a great excuse to send a card! So... Patti is offering some blog candy in exchange for getting cards for her friend, and it's a great selection of that too!

My Last Squigglefly Challenge

Well, today is my last Squigglefly Challenge card.

This challenge is to add a touch of Yellow! And this little image with the tag blank is such a good one for this color and for my last image! Tons of things you could write or stamp inside the tag.

This is my last card officially because my DT member time has run out! Six months has just flown by so very quickly. I'm going to miss the whole team and the wonderful owners and especially Holly! BUT - I will try to become a member again! And I'll keep using the wonderful images I have! So you'll definitely see that Squigglefly name here again!!

Hi everyone. Well, here's my attempt at a challenge card for the House Mouse Challenge #71 of Something Sweet. I don't have many of these stamps, but I did have a few of the Halloween ones, and see, he's carrying his Sweet Candy in the little pumpkin! Well, it works for me!

Here's a card I made for the SweetPea challenge. I kept goofing it up, so decided to go minimalistic! I think teh image is cute, but everything I kept trying just wasn't working.

I decided to make an entry into the
Sassy Cheryl's challenge this week. I think this is a very cute image, and couldn't resist. I used Glossy Accents on the flowers and the bee!

And I, who usually don't make a card unless I have a reason, didn't have one - so this just goes in the stash! I made him so big that he covers almost all the front, so any sentiment will just go inside.

SSDS - Week 43

Good morning All! Well, it finally is, as I had trouble loading up this photo of my card and now it works! Finally.

Our challenge this week was for handmade embelishments. Our sponsor this week is Glitz Design. They carry original paper, stickers, rub ons, stamps, rhinestone strips (which they like to call "frosting") and so much more. They have provided an awesome prize package of Glitz Design products.

I'm not too good at a challenge like this. But I'd seen this sentiment somewhere, and I have the perfect person to send it to, so I decided to give it a go. The flowers are made from several different punches, in varying shades of blue.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend too! Our challenge this week was to use Red, White & Blue, and I came up with this very simple card that I'm giving to my Stepdad who is visiting and who is a Veteran having served in 2 different services in WWII. I didn't take a very good photo of this, but I think you get the gist of it.

I've been swamped this week with having my company arrive for their annual month long stay! I look forward to it, but it's a lot of work both before and while they are here!

I also had a new job interview this past week, and I hope it went well. I think the interview did, but you never seem to know anymore, ya know! The boss is taking a couple of weeks to make up his mind. I've been so sad that things didn't work out at my last job, but then it's going through lots of changes. So far 5 staff people are gone from there in the past couple of months. So I hope this new job works out for me.

I'm sorry -- but I've neglected commenting on the cards for our challenge last week too, but I do check them out and they are fantastic. I am so happy that so many people are coming by and joining in on the challenges! Keep it up! I hope to do better now to follow up and comment. I fail miserably at doing that routinely.

Squigglefly & Sentimental Sunday too

Well, I'm a day early, but I wanted to get my card posted for Squigglefly Monday. It's a get well card! Isn't this a cute image. Of course, I can see using it for a lot of things beside this Get Well card but it seems that those are in need for now. I've mailed out a few these past few weeks.

And, this card also works for the Sentimental Sunday too. I love it when things work out like this!! It doesn't often happen to me.

I'm so excited, as my Mom and Stepdad are coming up to visit this week. They'll be here about a month and at the moment I'm not working again, so that works out just fine. I hope to have some visitors while they are here. We'd like them not to have to travel so much and hopefully some friends will make the drive up there to see them.

But that also means I need to clean house! I've nearly got the guest room ready for them. See, that's also my work space, and it's been a mess for a long time, but we recently moved out all the big furniture (except the bed) and I've put in some bookcases to hold all my stash - so hopefully this will work better this visit. Just some last minute tweaking to do!

Been Playing a little today...

I found this free adorable cute image of a hamster with a hula hoop and couldn't resist. I made up this card for their 3rd Challenge at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Their DT did a great job!, but I was just happy to have time enough to make a very simple card.

Hi everyone. Today is a fun challenge at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday. It's making an Easel card. And I made this card for a friend at work, someone who has been really thoughtful and nice to me with all this cancer stuff. She's been through it all, recently herself, and what a blessing she's been to me.

So... I took this in to her at work yesterday.

I really like this style of card, in fact I've made a bunch of them recently. I did both my Mom's and my Mother-in-law's Mother's Day cards like this too! But they aren't for showing yet!!

Squigglefly - blues and greens!

Well, I think this fits the challenge this time around.

I LOVE these flowers and also this sentiment. I'm sending this to a girlfriend who is recovering from some surgery and having to behave (aren't you, girlfriend?!) so I thought it would cheer her up! She's an avid gardener! I don't know if she has any blue flowers or not, but I thought I'd send her this one.

Late, late late for my SSDS

I'm so sorry I'm so very late. You'd think I would have had this loaded up already. It was done on time, I promise. But, my new computer was having fits, and then my printer wasn't working either. It's been a rough weekend. But, I do have my "girly" card finished and finally loaded up.

This image is one of my very favorites of a female! I mean, who could possibly deny this is a "girly" girl! I'm afraid my coloring this time around does not do it justice. Another one of the things not quite working right this weekend.

But, I'm hopeful that things will perk up soon. I'm getting ready for a visit from my Mom and stepdad in late May, and I'm working feverishly to get their room ready. See, it's also my craft room, and it's gotten very overrun since their last visit. In fact, if they arrived today, there would be no place to sleep, as the bed was entirely covered. But I've put some new bookcases in the room, and removed a dresser and mirror, so things are improving little by little. I probably need one more bookcase to free up the last of it all. That also means that I'm getting a little more organized too, which is a good thing!!

SSDS Challenge Day

Well, today's challenge calls for Buttons, Bows and Bling! I made this card for a girlfriend who is having her Relay for Life today.

I know she'll get lots of cards with the Breast Cancer ribbon on it, so I decided to use something a little different. Naturally. That's just how my mind works I guess!

I'm now a survivor too, so I'm going to join in for a little bit of the celebration part.

I have to make another card today to take to another friend who is dying of cancer. He called this week, and just needed to chat a bit I think, so we decided to make the trip to visit. The weather is supposed to cooperate with us and be nice.

We have so much to do around here, things we put off most of this winter, and then with the past few weeks I just couldn't get it done, but time is running out. We have to have a garage sale and get rid of some stuff (all kinds of stuff) before we have visitors in late May. My guest room/craft room is undergoing a big change to make accommodations - most of the furniture is going and new bookcases and things are coming in to free up clutter and (aghast!) maybe make organization a little better! But this visit this weekend is extremely important too.

Squigglefly Doodles

Todays challenge at Squigglefly is to "doodle" and I'm not too experienced at this.

I don't think I do that too often in general, and I definitely don't to that too often on my cards!

But when trying to come up with what to do, I loved these new flower images from Squigglefly and so I knew I wanted to include them, and for some reason, trying to put a little dragonfly into the scene seemed right. What do you think? I'd seen the idea of this dragonfly somewhere that starts with circles as the body, and then just adding to it. I felt I could maybe do that!

This is my card for the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday challenge today. I used some Glitz paper (Audrey), and added a few butterflies I punched out to go with the ones in the paper.

I have a few birthday cards to make for my co-workers, and I thought this made a nice one!

My photo isn't the best, but I'm having issues with my camera and computer not communicating well. They don't seem to like each other. But I struggled through and at least got this to show up.
