Squigglefly challenge
I'm late, and will be that way awhile...
We went out and bought a new computer yesterday, and I just finally got it hooked up LATE last night, but had no time to upload all the old stuff (programs and such) on it. And naturally I don't have my camera stuff uploaded either. So... as soon as I can tonight after work, I'll try to get some stuff uploaded, and then we'll see what I can get done. I don't have time this morning either, as I have to leave in a couple minutes for another medical appointment (I'M REALLY GETTING TIRED OF THESE!)
In the meantime, go checkout all the other DT members projects. You can find their blogs listed on my sidebar! And I'll get mine posted as soon as I can!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday!
Here's my card for the sketch challenge at SSDS today. I was behind in getting it done. I don't think I like doing sketches much. I tend to "go with the flow" a little more than that. And I'm not especially good at visualilzing some slight changes like other people can do!
But I completed it, and for me, recently, that's a challenge in itself! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things but it's hard.
I'm sending this card to a girlfriend for Easter, and she raises chicks. I think she'll like it.
Have you stopped by the blog recently? If not, you have been missing some exciting news. We are slowing introducing you to the new team members, and they are some fantastic ladies, let me tell you. You definitely need to head over there and check things out. And while you are there - join in on our challenges. Mostly they are fun and there are some great prizes. This week's sponsor is Sunshine Stamps!

Something Brand New At Squigglefly!!
We are super excited to tell you about a brand-new line we're releasing on Squigglefly on March 27th called Inside-Outs!™
These sets contain everything you need to make a card from, well, the inside out!
Typically, they will contain two images and two sentiments, one of each to be used on the inside of the card, and one of each to be used on the outside of the card. It's everything you need to make a complete creation in one easy package!
As you can tell by the above, I just love this new stuff! And so fitting a first one for me to do. I've made a bunch of cards that I needed to give to people who have helped me in the past few weeks, and what an appropriate image they gave me to try out!! If you read my blog, you will have to agree that this is just perfect!

To promote this new line, we're offering each of you a chance at a free Inside-Outs!™ pack. What's cooler than getting your hands on one of these awesome new sets for free? All you have to do to be eligible is create something - anything - using a Squigglefly image and make a new post about it on your blog or website. Then, just send us the link to your post at squigglefly@squigglefly.com, and you get a free Inside-Outs!™ set emailed to you when they're released on March 27th! Blog or website posts must be made between March 19th - 27th to qualify.
Please go to the website to check this out!

I'm Baaaack!
Hi everyone!
I'm back! At least I think I'm fairly well back to normal! I'm ready to give it a try.
My treatments are all done, I think. I do have to consult with the oncology doctor next week, but the radiation treatments are done.
Here is my card for Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge! The theme is "tear it up" and I'm not used to doing that, but I found this wonderful little image and it seemed to be able to fit in well. And I love the little jelly beans background! And it's nearly Easter!
You'd think I would have had a lot of time to get some cards made up ahead of time, but not me! Instead, I was still trying to work (granted, it's part time but all told I'm gone from home over 5 to 5 1/2 hours every day for it) and then having to squeeze the treatments and doctor visits and all into the other hours, and just the regular life things like grocery shopping, laundry etc....
Then to top it off, my computer started getting sassy with me. It's kinda old and cantankerous -- like me -- and it started denying there was a printer attached, and when I'd get that fixed, it would try telling me that the program I usually use wasn't loaded, which it was, and then it would say I have no photos (or images) anywhere on the computer, which I clearly actually probably have way too many loaded. I think it's time to replace this old model. It was top of the line when purchased, but that's been about 6-7 years ago now. And with all the expenses coming up, I'd hate to try and squeeze more from this money turnip - but I can't live without my computer! And we've been wanting a laptop, and although I think overall I still would like a desktop model, we're so unsure what to do.
So hubby and I are discussing the possibilities. Luckily I got to spend a little extra time on it the other day, and it seems to have straightened out a bit for now. But.... if I don't respond in the next few weeks, it's probably because of the computer!
Well, enough chatting for now. Go over to SSDS and check out the other design team members projects and get on board! This may be the last you'll see a few of them, as some are moving on to other positions on other teams, and we have some new members just starting this week and next. Still tons to see and new ideas to check out.
I'll be back for sure by next week with my Squigglefly challenge too. Who knows, if the computer cooperates, I may have more inbetween!! I hope so as cards needed within the family are still going on! Several birthdays and anniversaries coming up quick!
Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes! They are so appreciated!

Hi blogger friends,
And, I have some FANTASTIC news!
I got the pathology report back late on Thursday when they changed the Mammosite balloon, and there was no cancer in the lymph nodes that were removed, and none was found in the margins either! And I started my radiation treatments today with the first two doses.
That continues every day next week, and then that's it.
I am so very blessed!
I've been extremely tired, but that's about the worse of the side effects. I understand that it's very common with this type of treatment and I've been back at work all week too, which is tiring as well. I only missed the surgery day and the following day. I'd like to take some time off to just get caught up on the rest, but I feel I can't. The new boss and my work has been so very good to me, and I can't let them down. And after having gone through such a long spell with no job, believe me it's important for me to treat them as well as they've done to me.
Tomorrow is going to be a day just for me!
I'm going to get a pedicure and get my nails done too. This - no shower - business is wearing me down, but I can't until everything is totally finished, and little sponge baths just aren't cutting it, so I decided I need the day to myself tomorrow before the treatments continue and my husband will be watching ballgames on tv anyway, so this is one way I decided to spend some time for myself. It's not that expensive and I deserve it!
Then I hope to get back into things by this coming weekend and get some cards made. I actually have made a few, but they were just quick cards to thank a few special friends who stepped up and helped so much this past couple of weeks. Now I owe my design teams a few to catch up a little.
So, have you scheduled your mammogram yet? Why not? It's such a quick procedure and boy, can it make a difference! Believe me. I actually did a self-exam and found this, followed by a visit to my primary and then a mammogram and then ultrasounds, and then a biopsy and then surgery, etc. This all started in early February - and now, middle of March, I'm nearly done. And it was found extremely early! You owe it to yourself to do this. You are the only person who knows your body this well and can early detect changes. Then follow it up with a mammogram and whatever may be needed. Please.
OK, I'm off the saltbox. Have a great day!

GOOD NEWS!!
I had my lumpectomy and they removed the small cancer, and luckily it appears that there was no cancer in the lymph nodes. They only removed the two lymph nodes to test (this is always done) and when they tested them during the surgery they didn't find any cancer cells. Now I have to wait to be positive on the final pathology (should be by Thursday), but sounds good to me!

Some not so good personal news...
I've had a really rough week.
I NEVER want another week like this past week.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
This past Tuesday I found out I have breast cancer.
I feel extremely lucky that I found this really soon. It's only about an inch in size and does not appear to be the fast growing type of cancer. We are going to do a lumpectomy and radiation. That's the plan. Course, things can rapidly change, but this is what I am going with.
Now, for all of you ladies reading this - Have you done your yearly Mammogram yet? If not, why not? DO NOT WAIT.
My surgeon was quite skeptical and even commented about me NOT being the person who found this cancer and how they show up occasionally on mammograms, and most women cannot detect this,
but I did find it.
And I showed him exactly the spot, bypassing the cyst which was nearby as that is something I've often felt, and this other was something foreign to me and didn't belong. That's what I had told my primary doctor. I knew it didn't belong there.
It wasn't through a routine mammogram. I have been the one to find everything like this (I've found cysts several times before and I really did think this must be similar or nearly the same, but I still quickly followed up with my primary doctor and got additional mammograms and ultrasounds and ultimately biopsies done!) Hopefully that will make all the difference. I told my surgeon that for over 30 years I've had one of those little plastic signs hanging in my shower that show how to do a self-check! They don't even hand those out to women anymore. But it helps remind me to do it routinely! and Thank God.
So.... on Wednesday - the very next day, my husband and I spent the entire day with me having a double MRI, an hour and half consultation with the surgeon and his surgery tech, and then getting all the necessary things done such as X-rays, blood work, EKG's, and all in anticipation of my surgery next week and the setting the plan in place for the follow-up.
I feel blessed that things are happening really quickly. We were able to get the surgery scheduled for next week.
I've had wonderful support from all my family and my husband's family, and many, many wonderful friends.
I have been
Every single day this week I've been talking to someone who has offered wonderful encouragement to me.
So everyone, I will most likely not be doing my regular cards for my two teams: Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday and Squifflefly -- at least not for a couple weeks.
I really hope that is all that I may miss.
Please show all those wonderful ladies on those teams some support in place of me!
And please, pray for me and my family.
Well, better late on one and early on another...

Just ducky!
There is a challenge for "ducky" cards over at Clearly Delightful , and I thought I'd enter this one for the CDBC2.
I have a cousin who is still recovering from losing his foot, and I thought this might cheer him up a little.
Because of the green paper, the yellow didn't show up too well, so I outlined it in a little tan.

Squigglefly news...
Today the challenge is to make a Valentine's Day card, with no red. My card fits the bill, but the photo makes it look like it has red in it, but it's really a Hot Pink Rose! I promise, that's the name of the color. But I agree, it looks red.
But it's the only part. The rest isn't any shade of pink! In fact, I chose purple!
I like this little image which is from the Critter Party by Penny Black and the sentiment is from Squigglefly!
This week we have a fabulous sponsor, Michelle Perkett Studios. If you haven't been to Michelle Perkett Studios be sure to pop over there and browse around. One lucky participant will win two images as well as 6 greeting cards. Check the prizes out at the site and join in on the fun!
Just a little reminder: We are having a "Love is in the Air" Blog hop. Mark your calenders and plan to spend a little time with us next weekend. There will be lots of prizes you aren't going to want to miss it!

Here's 4 more cards...
OK, here's 4 more for the Papertrey Ink Birthday celebration, then I'm off to bed. I'm getting way too tired to do any more. I wish I'd known/seen this a few days ago. It would have been really fun to work harder and truly do my best, because tonight was just pushing/rushing me too much. But I do love these Birthday Images!! Thanks!
Here's 3 cards for Papertrey Ink's Celebration
Here are the 3 cards I've made already for the Big Birthday Celebration at Papertrey Ink's 3rd Birthday Party. I hope to make a few more, but the deadline is coming real quick, and I just found out about it today (yea, I've been swamped and didn't get to all my emails)! So I've been scrambling! Love the images, and so I'm going to try to do a couple more in the next hour or so before bedtime! Wish me luck!

I have 2 cards today...
Today's challenge at Squigglefly was to make a white card with sparkle! And I really struggled with this. Now partyly it was because I was tired. But... also I was thinking how could I use an image, with no color but white.
So I already really, really liked this sentiment and was planning to use it to make a 25th Anniversary card for my brother and his wife which is coming up really soon, and I decided to use a light pink. It's not white, but a very light color! - well that was my thinking anyway!
And that's why you can now view 2 cards for this one challenge!!
Of course, this just got an additional ribbon added, to stay with the theme for the challenge. Once again, a CAS card from me.
I really do know how to make more elaborate cards, but this is my basic style.
So, how about it? Want to come join the challenge fun? Holly, Squigglefly's extraordinaire, just let us know that Squigglefly Challenge has a prize every week!! Did you know that a new challenge takes place every Monday on the Squigglefly blog . The prizes will vary from free images to goodie bags from Holly. A Squigglefly image does have to be used to be eligible for a prize. But there are so many to be won, and so much fun to be had. Come join us!

Here's my card for the Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday challenge this week.
It's a SPRING THEME! I love flowers, and they always make me think of spring, so when I received this little image, that's the first thing I thought of!
Isn't this just the cutest image! I love it! It was a recent blog candy win and I am so happy to be an owner of some Penny Black images!
I'm not really a cat lover, but my oldest son now is, and I will admit that he has one cute little cat that gets up to some mischief. This could be him.
Come join the fun today (or this week) and make a card with a spring theme, and get it entered. We had nearly 60 entries last week! WOW! We are so excited to see so many enjoying our challenges!

SSDS Challenge again!
Well, it's time for another Stamp Scrap and Doodle Saturday Challenge.
We had so much fun with the images from last week, that we decided to make a girly card with some of the images from Sweet Pea Stamps again! And we are so happy that so many people joined in the challenge last week! What fun to see so many ideas and projects! I'm so sorry I didn't make it around to everyone's blog to see them all, but the team has been chatting all week about the wonderful response!
Even though the competition is over, your cards and projects will still be up, and I hope to finally make it around to see them all.
Come join the challenge this week too. The more the merrier!! I'm a firm believer that we can learn something from everyone and this hobby of mine is the perfect example. How everyone interprets the images and what they come up with is just amazing.
Sir Dustin
Sir Dustin is due to arrive on Jan 20 with new images! Check it out!

Sketchy Thursday challenge

I made this card for Sketchy Thursdays. I saw their reminder:
iCopic Second Chance Challenge ending tomorrow!
Just a little reminder that the iCopic Second Chance Challenge is ending tomorrow, Tuesday 1/12 at 11:59pm EST. , and hurried and finished this up. I think I pretty much followed the sketch. I had made another card, and goofed it pretty bad, so I just started fresh with this paper. It was a digital freebie, and I can't remember where I got it, but I love it.
I'd love the chance to win some copics and give them a try!

How about another Avid Reader...
This was me a long time ago. My mother, Bless Her, signed me up to a book club when I was very young, and the day the book would arrive, you'd find me just like this until the whole thing was done!
Then I'd be angry because it was over, and I would have to WAIT for the next one to arrive! The first series that I really remember a lot about was called The Happy Holisters. Of course there were many other books, but this was a series about kids like me! Well, not like me in that they had adventures and traveled and had plenty of brothers and sisters (I was a stay-at-home girl with two brothers). But I always had fun imaging that I was part of those adventures.
My boys were into Comic Books, in fact they collected them for years - which I thought was a waste, but my only condition was that they had to read the ones that they purchased. And they did! I think they still have over 800 in backer boards and plastic. I always think this is part of the reason my boys chose their career paths (both have degrees in English and Creative Writing)
