Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been so behind, but as you can see, I have been making cards. This an extremely busy month for our families, lots of birthdays, anniversaries, etc., and these are just a very few of the cards I've done. I still have more to go too!

Nutcrafters #25

Here's a card using fall colors I made for the Nutcrafters #25 (NNW25) Challenge. This is an adorable image and I've actually used it a lot! (Have nieces who LOVE to shop!)
And I love greens, oranges, reds and yellows and that sums up the fall colors in my back yard!
Check it out, and give it a try! I think the deadline is October 6.

SSDS Saturday Challenge AND 2 CUTE RUBBER STAMPS

Hello everyone,
Happy Saturday to you. Today I have combined my card again using an image from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps for the Challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle.
The challenge at SSDS was changed to be a Birthday Card for Operation Write Home (OWH) birthday celebration this month (they use to be know as Cards For Heroes).

We are asking that all the participants send their cards into OWH for our troups. The prize is from Craft Brulee http://www.craftbrulee.co.uk/

You can find the OWH shipping addresses here: http://www.operationwritehome.org/mailroom.html

This is from the OWH website...
OWH supports our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. Our 'birthday' (anniversary of our official registration as an org) is Sept 12th — but we're stretching the party to last all month!

Operation Write Home began in 2007 with just a few cards made by friends on a message board; what began as an outlet for a hobby has become a much larger mission to help heroes keep in touch with home - and the effort has been joined by thousands of cardmakers!
OWH receives handmade cards donated by crafters across America (and beyond!). Cardmakers range in age, location, and level of skill; cards are provided by individuals and groups, schools and scouts, companies and churches. All have one primary thing in common: a desire to serve those who defend our nation!

Cards are mailed to one of our volunteer shippers in quanities both small and large. The shippers process, sort, repair, and document each donation, and then pack and ship boxes of over 300 cards each to our contacts. Our heroes request cards (families may also request on their behalf; we serve all branches in all deployed locations.

Tax-deductible donations of any size keep this work going - from $1 to any amount - and can be included with card donations to any shipper, mailed separately, or via Paypal.
Thank you for partnering with us!
SOME OTHER NEWS:
This is my last week that I'll combine these cards for the two Design Teams I'm on, as I have informed Regina that I will be stepping down from my DT position with SSDS next Saturday. I have truly enjoyed my time (I joined with the first batch of DT Members) with all the members and felt it was time to move on - and allow someone else to join in. There is a current search for DT members and I'm sure they'll find someone great to take over. I hope this allows me a little extra time to participate in more challenges.

The Stamp Spot Challenge (game)....

Here's a card I made for The Stamp Spot Challenge/Game that's due by the 19th.

The challenge was to make something that INSPIRES you! Well, anyone who works for this cause inspires me! I love this "young" image from Sassy Studio Designs and I also absolutely love this other image of Stella from Bugaboo!

This crappy disease doesn't pay attention to age, and neither do any of many wonderful ladies I've come to know who tirelessly work for this cause!

Ladies, I salute you (what it says on the inside) with this card!

Starts Monday...

It's a 1st Birthday Party! Check out all the fun stuff and the chances to win at the
Stamp Spot Blog!

monkey C monkiedo is his name!

There is this adorable little monkey who needs a name, and I've entered a couple for him. Check it out at Some Odd Girl .

Don't bother to enter though as I've provided his name already! Oh, alright, but I still think it's a cute name! But I also submitted the name Kolton too!

Nutcrafters #22

Well, once again I wish I was a better photographer.

This is a cute image from the set called Wedding Day, except I chose to make her look more like a bridesmaid all decked out in Pink!

This is for Challenge #22 at Nutcrafters Free choice.

freeibe at Sassy Studios

Just in case you don't already check out Sassy Studio Designs, go there today for a great freebie! One dear to my heart. They also have a fantastic deal on a great set of patriotic Honeys.

Go! Now!

SSDS AND 2 Cute Rubber Stamps....

Happy Saturday everyone!
Well, I'm cheating - sort of.
I'm swamped and so I used my little bunny image from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps for my Thank You card for Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge! Well, everyone else does multiple challenges, don't they?!
I love this little bunny. It was my first choice in stamps when I was invited to join the DT at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. And it's such a fitting image for this challenge of Thank You.
I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Saturday where you are, and that you find some time to join in the challenge at SSDS!

Nutcrafters Challenge#23

Here's my card for the Nutcrafters Challenge #23 - School Days.

Back to School Shopping is always a treat! And this little image conveys that pretty well.

They are also having a DT call.

Necklace giveaway Sunday

There is a necklace giveaway on Sunday Here . Check it out! She shows you 5 and then a mystery one! Sounds fun to me!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps

Happy Saturday!

Here's my stamp for the day at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this little bee cute?

I have several friends that I need to send a card like this to, just to let them know I'm thinking of them.

I used Glossy Accents on the heart, and my nesties scalloped ovals to frame out the image of the bee. The paper is from a matstack called Flower Shower Spring.

Thanks for checking my card, and don't forget to stop by every day of the week to see what the other DT members have to show you. They are all very good, and these are great images!

SSDS Saturday Challenge...

Hi Everyone.
Well, here's my card today for the new challenge. Can you guess, it's Christmas!!
Well, this is actually very early for me. I don't normally make anything Christmasy at least until after Halloween!
But... that's the challenge. I love this little muffin image. And although my photography isn't great, the top part is actually "popped up" off the base and looks good that way!
Hope you get a chance to join us this week.

And I'm cheating here a little -- and letting people know that before too long I'll be stepping down from this DT group. It's been great, and I've loved it, but I also want to give someone else a chance to learn and grow like I have. I'm taking a break away, and hopefully they'll let me come back sometime. I've been here since the inception and have learned so much. These girls have pushed me sometimes to go beyond my comfort zone and I've stalled the whole way, but eventually did stretch and learn! Thanks ladies! (Even those who have been gone awhile like Micki and Boni and a few others too)!

Nutcrafters DT call...

Here's a card that I'm submitting for a chance at the DT at Nutcrafters! It was a freebie too!
Their images are so cute! And I've been lucky enough to win a couple!
Wish me luck! I think it ends today.

Pixie Cottage sale and candy...

There is a sale at the Pixie Cottage, and also some blog candy.

I really like this particular image from their store, and I know there are tons of things that could be done with it. Adding flower soft, and a lot of variety of images. It's on my wish list, along with many others. (it still sucks being unemployed this long!)
The candy runs until Sept 15th. Check it out.

End of summer...

Well, school has started in our area, and I guess that means the End of Summer!

What a great challenge over at Whimsie Doodles! So I thought I'd enter a card.

Love these little images, and the paper is part of the Nana's Kids papers I got this summer. So cute.

This also works for "digital" over at Cupcake Craft Challenge!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps Saturday...

Hi everyone.
Here's my card for Saturday at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this little guy cute?!
And I'm sure he'd be a welcome guest to anyone's birthday party! Look what he's bringing along. YUMMY!
I hope you join in our new challenge too! Read below for more information and get busy. There is still time left and we have offered a freebie so there is no excuse not to join in.
I'll see you all next Saturday - unless I stop by and acknowledge your entry into the challenge!

Another SSDS Saturday

The challenge this week is to make a get well or good luck card using Digi Doodle Shop images! And there are tons of images to choose from too.
I chose this little boy and his car, a very masculine image. And, in a recent TV show about antiques, they were discussing a toy that probably most little boys had "back in the day" and how valuable they would be now if in mint condition. I was dumbfounded! As much as a new car. Wish someone in my family had kept his!
Anyway, come join in the fun this week and win a prize! Best of luck to those of you who participate!

Duh....

Sorry everyone, I guess I kinda spaced it and didn't announce this as quick as I could/should have! BUT....... 2 Cute Rubber Stamps is having a big Challenge and we want you to join in.

In fact, we are giving away some freebies so that you have no excuse!

We love a good challenge and anything free is just a FAB bonus! SO, we are offering up a super cute FREE digi - actually FOUR variations of the digi!!!!!!!
To get your Cupcake Cutie Free Digi go Here!
After you make your creation with it, be sure and come back and link up your blog post or gallery post!
And don't forget we also have a Design Team Call!

Please help us pass the word along about our challenge!!!
The last day to Enter is September 6th! Don't let that date slip up on you, it's soon!

Also, you can go over to the blog and see some great examples using this freebie by the DT members! I have mine listed here.

New neighbor

Here's a card I made for our new neighbor. Inside I put a photo of my husband and myself, along with our address and phone. I hope this one is more friendly!
I did another one several weeks ago when a new pastor moved in across the street from us, but so far she's not made any type of contact. Not even waving and isn't outside unless it's extremely late at night. Don't know what to make of that. She's pretty young, in her early 30s - maybe that's it.
Oh well, I still think it's a good idea to make this initial contact as you never know if this new person is new to the community in general and could use some helpful tips, or like I've been told about this new lady, that she's recently divorced and trying to make a new life for herself. Either way, it never hurts to be friendly.

Teri's Creations - Delicious Doodles

Here's a card I made for the Delicious Doodles First Birthday Competition and the Sisterhood Blog Hop.

This is using one of the new freebies that Teri so generously offered this past week. Isn't it cute? I hope you had a chance to get some of these goodies, they were all great.

SSDS Challenge Saturday

Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs and I love their images. This is a cute one with her recycle t-shirt and holding the earth - so I thought I'd push home the Thinking Green idea.
She's very easy to color (like all their images) and like a lot of them, open to interpretation!
Most of their lovely ladies are just adorable, but you know, they do have other images as well. Go check them out. And I have a couple already for Halloween!
Happy Saturday! And come join us this week and you'll have a chance to win some goodies from Sassy Studios Designs!

So sorry...

Here's my card today for the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps!

It never hurts to have one of these ready. When most people lose a pet, it's like one of the family and a sympathy card is needed for this type of loss also.

This particular card is just a more generic one, made in advance. I would normally make it custom (with the pet's name on it). I wasn't into making cards a few years ago when I needed one of these when my Mom lost her pet, and then my husband and I had to have our 18 year old Cairn Terrier, Logan, put down a couple years ago too. So now I want to be prepared. And this is just an adorable image (you can get just one of the each individual pet too). I like this one as it makes you think there's a special place for all pets.

I'm spending the weekend indoors in the A/C. Best place to be in this awful Indiana heat.
How about you? Plans? Or taking it easy too? Whatever.... hope you have fun!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps Saturday...

Sorry so late, something messed up with my scheduling of this.
Here's my card for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps today. Of course, I did have it online on time there!
Isn't this owl fun?! How adorable. And this isn't the only one they have available either! (clue - the other will be showing up here before too long).
I thought this sentiment from TLC worked perfectly with this image!
I'm having a great Saturday. It's still WAY too hot around here, but since I'm not working, I'm staying as "undressed" as I can sneak by with and that certainly helps!
Have a wonderful day, leave a comment if you have a moment, and I'll definitely have some new cards before next weekend.

SSDS - Happy Saturday!

Good Saturday Morning to you!

We have another challenge at the SSDS today, and it's a sketch challenge. I sometimes have a struggle with these - guess I'm not much of a conformist or something! But this wasn't too bad.

And of course I had a lovely image to work with! We are sponsored this week by:

So come on in, the "water" is fine and it's lots of fun, plus you get a chance to win some FAB images/stamps!! What more could you ask for?

SSDS -Another Challenge!

Today's card is a sentiment only card.
Well, at least a sentiment and no image card. I had to add a little bling in the ribbon! I just had to!
But isn't this sentiment great! I love it. It's from Squigglefly and I've used it several times, but I imagine a lot of people only think about putting a sentiment like this on the back of the card - NOT ME! I want it right out there in front!
You'll be finding my two Saturday blog posts flipping around a little for a while. I now post on Saturdays for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps also - so you'll never know which one will be on top! I like to mix things up a bit!
Hope you are having a great weekend day and run over to the blog and check out all the other projects - there are some great ones -- I sneaked a peek earlier!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps!

Here's my first official post for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps!
Well, actually I think the official one is on the the 2 Cute Rubber blog, but what the heck!
I just love these manatees. So playful. And I love the little crabby guy too. This designer paper made me think of waves, so that's why I chose it. And I started out with a nestability and then decided to trim out the grasses or whatever. I like doing things a little differently!
And some more news for you.... if you head over there now you can get some YUMMY cupcake freebies! They are so tiny and cute!
Have a great Saturday!

Here's another little card for the challenge over at The Stamping Boutique! I'd love to win their prize of 5 new images!!

Dare to be Sassy Thursday

Here's my card for the Dare to be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Design Studios and this time the challenge was to "Freestyle" or create whatever I wanted! So I did!
I love the little cameo's of their images, and I have several. Of course, I love their larger ones too, including a couple freebies I got just the other night (thanks ladies)!!
But I've been seeing so many Halloween cards out there, I thought I'd do my bit! And these fit perfectly!

I've been published in Scrapstreet!

Well, a card of mine has been anyway!
We were told to make a card that fits the title: Heat Wave!
And this is what I came up with! It's a Chesney Young image from Squigglefly (I was on the Squigglefly DT at the time!). Following my most usual clean and simple cards, this was a breeze. I used Glossy Accents to mimic the sweat on the glass and in the ice cubes.
Notice too that the designer paper (Me and my Big Ideas) has the phrase Heat Wave in it!! I underlined it for emphasis.
Anyway, to check out the other projects, go to Blog Bay at Scrapstreet to check out all the other projects and a little discussion with Regina who is our leader at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge!

A card for Roy...

I apologize for the quality (or lack) of the photo, but I wanted to post this card because of the note I received from Lilly.
I had just kept a copy of the card for myself (I try to keep photos of most of the cards I've made) and never really intended to post about it. I've sent many cards like this as encouragement to people, not to put on the blog.
You see, I've been sending a few cards now and then to Roy & Lilly for encouragement especially to her husband (and she doesn't mind!!). And today, she sent a lovely note back saying he really has enjoyed this card since he cannot make it to the beaches any more. Now... I had no idea that he loved the beach, but when I saw this image, I just thought it would make a nice card for Roy. So I made the card and mailed it. How simple is that. But evidently it brought enjoyment to him, which was my focus. I'm so happy that it did!
They are going through some extremely difficult times. You can learn more about Roy and their struggles by checking out Lilly's blog . I encourage any cardmaker to do this, and then get busy and help by sending a card of encouragement to their whole family. They could certainly use it now! Prayers wouldn't hurt either!!
Also, I must apologize as I cannot remember where I found this freebie image. As soon as I saw it, I printed it and used it on this card and evidently didn't make note of it. Sorry! The sentiment says: Life's a Beach!....and sometimes you get a little sand in your bum; shore hope you are feeling better!

TLC challenge today...

I'm playing along with TLC Today! Love their freebies! So generous.
Go check them out, if you haven't already. I chose not to use the sentiment with this one, as I don't have a place for it yet, and I may come up with something else - depending on who I send it to.
Love the glitter on the pearl! And I just realized that I'm not a good photographer (actually, I knew that already!) but I didn't realize that the background blends into the brown on the bottom of the card - hummmmm, oh well, I must get working on that stupid light box I'm trying to make.
Have fun!

SSDS - Clean and Simple

This is my favorite kind of card!
So easy and simple, you can do it in a flash and sometimes that's most helpful! I've had many times I need a card lickety split and this does the job, at least for me.
All the DT member have fantastic projects for you this time around (course, they always do actually - but they love being told it - so what the heck!!).
Please come join us for this challenge and you have a chance at winning some goodies (see below photo) from CraftBrulee (God, I love that name!).

Crafty Emma is going to start a Challenge Blog, and is having a DT callout right now - limited time. Must respond by August 8. She's hoping to add 6, but there are already 60! Here's are the simple rules: 1 - Create a project every two weeks, post on your blog to promote the challenge and also my store; 2 - Comment on challenge entries on a rota basis; 3 - Take your turn to set the theme and write up the challenge post; 4 - Have fun!!

New challeng blog starting...

Here are the cute little stamps you could win if you are lucky on September 7 when the new Challenge Blog opens called Top Tip Tuesday!

EpiphanyArt-Stamping Boutique

OK,Tracey put out a challenge, and I'm up for it. Plus, I could win 5 new images, and that's something that appeals to me!!

She wanted us to use the new freebie from PCP Stamping Boutique and make a card and post it in two other places besides the PCP Stamping Boutique. So here on my blog is one, and I'll put this on Splitcoaststampers too.

I love this cute little image, and so it really wasn't a challenge or anything, just a kind of dare.... Hope my name is drawn on August 5.

Another challenge - Cute Card Thursday 123

Here's my entry into the
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 123 - texting crazy
! I have someone in mind for this card - and he's not that great a handyman, but he does try! So I think this fits!
You were allowed to use a small image, but texting was to be the focus, and I think I accomplished that nicely with this clean and simple card!
Go check it out! I've seen some lovely things being posted.

A card for a challenge...

Here's a little card I made for
The Stamping Boutique
challenge this month.

I love this little Beetle!
I consider this card finished, but I probably will put a stamped message like Happy Birthday or just hello or something when I actually send it to someone.
I used to see one just this color of bright pink around town a long time ago. Wonder what happened to it? Maybe the driver got one of the New Ones!

SSDS Challenge today!

Hi everyone. Well, it's another
SSDS Challenge
day today.
We have a friend who is adopting a baby (within a few weeks) so I thought I'd be smart and make this card ahead of time!
I'm assuming some of the co-workers will have a baby shower for her ahead of the arrival, but we'll see. I'm prepared!
Go check out all the other DT blogs (they are listed on the left) and see what lovely projects they have prepared, and then join in. You know you'd love to win some Meljen images, wouldn't you? Well, here's your chance!

Sweet Sketch #59

Here's my card for Sweet Sketch #59 Wednesday . It's a cute sketch, and I had this sentiment ready for something, and it fit perfectly! How often does that happen?

The crocheted flower is some of my blog candy I received from HOLLY!
I love it. I need to find out if she sells those!

The sentiment is from Squigglefly. The paper is from Nana's Nursery Set actually.

SSDS Challenge has returned...

Meljen is our sponsor this week, and she always has such great images (with lots of freebies too!) The challenge is to use Animals! I love this little donkey which was designed especially for Michelle.

I chose to use an expletive to describe him, but it's because of who I am sending this card to.
I try to always make cards that I'll actually be using, not just simply one for the challenge, so sometimes the sentiment is a little strange.

This was fun to color, as are most of Meljen's Designs. If you have not ever checked them out, you should go there now. And, then come and join in with us and you'll get a chance to win some more images!! What could be better than that! (OK, blog candy may be a little better, but this is fun - so join in).

Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical digital images inspired by her kids and family. The Meljen's Designs store officially launched on April 1 and is steadily growing! Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at the WHIMSY STAMPS STORE to browse and enjoy Melissa's wonderful images!
