I did another one several weeks ago when a new pastor moved in across the street from us, but so far she's not made any type of contact. Not even waving and isn't outside unless it's extremely late at night. Don't know what to make of that. She's pretty young, in her early 30s - maybe that's it.
Oh well, I still think it's a good idea to make this initial contact as you never know if this new person is new to the community in general and could use some helpful tips, or like I've been told about this new lady, that she's recently divorced and trying to make a new life for herself. Either way, it never hurts to be friendly.

I agree with you, this is a very friendly thing to do! It never hurts to know your neighbors!
Well this card is certainly very welcoming! Even if you don't become great friends and socialize, it's nice to know who your neighbors are and watch out for each other. I hope you have a great new neighbor, and it is a friendly gesture on your part to welcome them in this way!
Good for you, having moved often in the first 20 years of our marriage I know how nice it was to hae someone reach out and say hi. You never know when you have touched someone with your kindness.
What a great idea to make a card like this for you neighbours!! I love it.
