Nutcrafters #25

Here's a card using fall colors I made for the Nutcrafters #25 (NNW25) Challenge. This is an adorable image and I've actually used it a lot! (Have nieces who LOVE to shop!)
And I love greens, oranges, reds and yellows and that sums up the fall colors in my back yard!
Check it out, and give it a try! I think the deadline is October 6.

SSDS Saturday Challenge AND 2 CUTE RUBBER STAMPS

Hello everyone,
Happy Saturday to you. Today I have combined my card again using an image from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps for the Challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle.
The challenge at SSDS was changed to be a Birthday Card for Operation Write Home (OWH) birthday celebration this month (they use to be know as Cards For Heroes).

We are asking that all the participants send their cards into OWH for our troups. The prize is from Craft Brulee http://www.craftbrulee.co.uk/

You can find the OWH shipping addresses here: http://www.operationwritehome.org/mailroom.html

This is from the OWH website...
OWH supports our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. Our 'birthday' (anniversary of our official registration as an org) is Sept 12th — but we're stretching the party to last all month!

Operation Write Home began in 2007 with just a few cards made by friends on a message board; what began as an outlet for a hobby has become a much larger mission to help heroes keep in touch with home - and the effort has been joined by thousands of cardmakers!
OWH receives handmade cards donated by crafters across America (and beyond!). Cardmakers range in age, location, and level of skill; cards are provided by individuals and groups, schools and scouts, companies and churches. All have one primary thing in common: a desire to serve those who defend our nation!

Cards are mailed to one of our volunteer shippers in quanities both small and large. The shippers process, sort, repair, and document each donation, and then pack and ship boxes of over 300 cards each to our contacts. Our heroes request cards (families may also request on their behalf; we serve all branches in all deployed locations.

Tax-deductible donations of any size keep this work going - from $1 to any amount - and can be included with card donations to any shipper, mailed separately, or via Paypal.
Thank you for partnering with us!
SOME OTHER NEWS:
This is my last week that I'll combine these cards for the two Design Teams I'm on, as I have informed Regina that I will be stepping down from my DT position with SSDS next Saturday. I have truly enjoyed my time (I joined with the first batch of DT Members) with all the members and felt it was time to move on - and allow someone else to join in. There is a current search for DT members and I'm sure they'll find someone great to take over. I hope this allows me a little extra time to participate in more challenges.

The Stamp Spot Challenge (game)....

Here's a card I made for The Stamp Spot Challenge/Game that's due by the 19th.

The challenge was to make something that INSPIRES you! Well, anyone who works for this cause inspires me! I love this "young" image from Sassy Studio Designs and I also absolutely love this other image of Stella from Bugaboo!

This crappy disease doesn't pay attention to age, and neither do any of many wonderful ladies I've come to know who tirelessly work for this cause!

Ladies, I salute you (what it says on the inside) with this card!

Starts Monday...

It's a 1st Birthday Party! Check out all the fun stuff and the chances to win at the
Stamp Spot Blog!

monkey C monkiedo is his name!

There is this adorable little monkey who needs a name, and I've entered a couple for him. Check it out at Some Odd Girl .

Don't bother to enter though as I've provided his name already! Oh, alright, but I still think it's a cute name! But I also submitted the name Kolton too!

Nutcrafters #22

Well, once again I wish I was a better photographer.

This is a cute image from the set called Wedding Day, except I chose to make her look more like a bridesmaid all decked out in Pink!

This is for Challenge #22 at Nutcrafters Free choice.

SSDS AND 2 Cute Rubber Stamps....

Happy Saturday everyone!
Well, I'm cheating - sort of.
I'm swamped and so I used my little bunny image from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps for my Thank You card for Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge! Well, everyone else does multiple challenges, don't they?!
I love this little bunny. It was my first choice in stamps when I was invited to join the DT at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. And it's such a fitting image for this challenge of Thank You.
I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Saturday where you are, and that you find some time to join in the challenge at SSDS!

They are also having a DT call.

2 Cute Rubber Stamps

Happy Saturday!

Here's my stamp for the day at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this little bee cute?

I have several friends that I need to send a card like this to, just to let them know I'm thinking of them.

I used Glossy Accents on the heart, and my nesties scalloped ovals to frame out the image of the bee. The paper is from a matstack called Flower Shower Spring.

Thanks for checking my card, and don't forget to stop by every day of the week to see what the other DT members have to show you. They are all very good, and these are great images!

SSDS Saturday Challenge...

Hi Everyone.
Well, here's my card today for the new challenge. Can you guess, it's Christmas!!
Well, this is actually very early for me. I don't normally make anything Christmasy at least until after Halloween!
But... that's the challenge. I love this little muffin image. And although my photography isn't great, the top part is actually "popped up" off the base and looks good that way!
Hope you get a chance to join us this week.

And I'm cheating here a little -- and letting people know that before too long I'll be stepping down from this DT group. It's been great, and I've loved it, but I also want to give someone else a chance to learn and grow like I have. I'm taking a break away, and hopefully they'll let me come back sometime. I've been here since the inception and have learned so much. These girls have pushed me sometimes to go beyond my comfort zone and I've stalled the whole way, but eventually did stretch and learn! Thanks ladies! (Even those who have been gone awhile like Micki and Boni and a few others too)!

Nutcrafters DT call...

Here's a card that I'm submitting for a chance at the DT at Nutcrafters! It was a freebie too!
Their images are so cute! And I've been lucky enough to win a couple!
Wish me luck! I think it ends today.

Pixie Cottage sale and candy...

There is a sale at the Pixie Cottage, and also some blog candy.

I really like this particular image from their store, and I know there are tons of things that could be done with it. Adding flower soft, and a lot of variety of images. It's on my wish list, along with many others. (it still sucks being unemployed this long!)
The candy runs until Sept 15th. Check it out.

End of summer...

Well, school has started in our area, and I guess that means the End of Summer!

What a great challenge over at Whimsie Doodles! So I thought I'd enter a card.

Love these little images, and the paper is part of the Nana's Kids papers I got this summer. So cute.

This also works for "digital" over at Cupcake Craft Challenge!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps Saturday...

Hi everyone.
Here's my card for Saturday at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this little guy cute?!
And I'm sure he'd be a welcome guest to anyone's birthday party! Look what he's bringing along. YUMMY!
I hope you join in our new challenge too! Read below for more information and get busy. There is still time left and we have offered a freebie so there is no excuse not to join in.
I'll see you all next Saturday - unless I stop by and acknowledge your entry into the challenge!

Another SSDS Saturday

The challenge this week is to make a get well or good luck card using Digi Doodle Shop images! And there are tons of images to choose from too.
I chose this little boy and his car, a very masculine image. And, in a recent TV show about antiques, they were discussing a toy that probably most little boys had "back in the day" and how valuable they would be now if in mint condition. I was dumbfounded! As much as a new car. Wish someone in my family had kept his!
Anyway, come join in the fun this week and win a prize! Best of luck to those of you who participate!

New neighbor

Here's a card I made for our new neighbor. Inside I put a photo of my husband and myself, along with our address and phone. I hope this one is more friendly!
I did another one several weeks ago when a new pastor moved in across the street from us, but so far she's not made any type of contact. Not even waving and isn't outside unless it's extremely late at night. Don't know what to make of that. She's pretty young, in her early 30s - maybe that's it.
Oh well, I still think it's a good idea to make this initial contact as you never know if this new person is new to the community in general and could use some helpful tips, or like I've been told about this new lady, that she's recently divorced and trying to make a new life for herself. Either way, it never hurts to be friendly.
