I WON!

I won some blog candy Sunday from kraftykidfamily.blogspot.com !
I've supposedly won a couple other times, but never have received the items yet. A previous win was Pink Papery Studios on December 23, 2008, and another was from Queen Kat Designs on January 11, 2009. Pink Papery Studio says it's been shipped quite a while ago, but haven't received anything yet, and never have heard back from Queen Kat Designs about when it shipped, despite an email asking. Can you tell I'm the impatient type?
So if they all do really arrive, Whoo Hoo! I'll get a toothache!

So keep entering and especially now with the One World One Heart project going on. I believe there are over 600 involved in this. I've been entering quite a few, but am being very selective in choosing only the ones I really would use and or love. And there are many nice ones that I do like, but we downsized our home a few years ago, and my husband isn't too thrilled with my card making hobby for now anyway, so I'm being careful not to bring in too many things!

A friend is retiring after doing a sport column for the local newspaper, and this is a card w/giftcard that I made for him, and I used wallpaper samples for the football texture. Since I'm new at card making this is affordable for me to experiment with for now. Plus it allows the creative part of me to function. I have purchased some stamps, punches, etc., but I like to try using whatever I find also.

I'm frustrated today as my Kodak printer is having problems again. Less than a year old and twice I've needed the print head replaced (free yes, but a hassle none the less). And now today, they told me to upgrade some things, and now it won't work at all!! When it works, it's great, but when it goofs up, boy I could just pitch it! And of course, they always are so nice and apologetic when I call - but that doesn't really help me much.

I've been checking out blogs today to get ideas for a special birthday card for a very special friend. We started grade school together and I love her dearly, so I want something extra special. So naturally I'm looking to others for better ideas!

first attempt at blogging...

This is my First Attempt at a Blog.
It won't be updated often, but I'll see what happens. I recently started making homemade cards, and I love it. I've spent way too much money on supplies but it's a harmless hobby, except for the money part, and it's fun.

So check back once in a while and see what happens. Just don't expect huge updates or daily blogs or anything like that, probably not for a long time. I'll try to show what I've learned from searching other blogs and help from all those wonderful crafters out there!
One incentive for this is to enter for blog candy, most everyone asks you to link your blog. Without one is a disadvantage I think. So I'll make an effort.
