Celebrate - being a new Grandma (first timer!)

Here's a card I made for the StampFairy Challenge.

The theme for this week's challenge is "Celebrate." This could be New Years, a Birthday or any Special Occasion - You must have a sentiment stating what kind of celebration (i.e. Happy Birthday, Happy New Years, Happy Valentines).

I hope they understand how much this being a Grandma is a celebration for us! This new little one is due in just 22 days!

when you are ill...

Here's another card using a House Mouse image.
I love this little image, and it seems like I've been needing "get well" cards quite a bit recently. So this makes a very cute one to send.

I'm going to enter this one too. Since I had to make it up anway. A former classmate friend has just had some surgery, and I think he'll like this one.

Mousy cards...

Here's one of my favorite House Mouse images. Such a cute card for even guys!
I'm entering these into the House Mouse Challenge.

Help if you can... and just enjoy this story

Please go check out Nikki's post Here and contribute if you can.
What a loving memory of her mom. I try to talk to my Mom every day, as she is getting older and starting with Alzheimer's we believe. As a teenager I didn't care for my Mom at all, and she understood and just waiting for me to "wise up". Don't know what I'd do without her. Stories like this remind me to treasure her while I can.

Merry Christmas again.... with snow this time

Here's a photo looking out my back door this morning! Perfectly covered with a light amount of snow!

Merry Christmas!

Well, things have slowed down here finally.
I've been busy making cards, but then the actual sending of them has taken up so much time. And in the middle of all that, I had a baby shower for my son and his girlfriend (expecting that first granddaughter in January!!) and although fun - it was a lot of work. And to top it off, I forgot to take any pictures. DANG.

Just when that was over, we got news that our friend Bucky had passed away. I had to stop and make a couple of sympathy cards for his special ladies (daughter Stacy and wife Gayle), and then we had to drive a few hours to go to the viewing - couldn't stay for the funeral as that was this morning - and our family are all coming here for Christmas, with me cooking the dinner.

I think I've written about Bucky before. He's most recently been battling cancer but he also had a kidney transplant almost 35 years ago. He's strong-armed this cancer for about 18 months when they told him he'd maybe get 12 months. But he's at rest now, God Bless him, and in no more pain. And when chatting with him (or Gayle), always asked how I've been doing since the breast cancer.

So it's been rather hectic.
I came home last night to learn I had won some blog candy at Tickled Pink! Soooo looking forward to that! And getting back into posting. Sorry it's been so long really. Next week I hope to put up a few photo collages of some of what I've worked on. They won't be very good as the actual cards have been mailed off (or in a few cases - sold) so I only have small thumbnail sizes that I keep to show off. but there have been so many that even I am still amazed.

For now, Simply Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my followers, family and friends.

LPSC99 - the last one

Here's a card I made for the last Little Paper Shop's Challenge #99. And Julia, this one is for you. I'm sorry to hear that the store is closing.
I don't have many of their stamps, but I do love them. I wish I had them all in digital form.
The challenge was to make a square card. How simple is that!

sorry I've not been posting much....

I've been so busy lately, sorry I haven't posted much. First I had a big craft sale to get ready for (over 200 cards were made!) and actually that was a bust. Didn't sell hardly any because we got dumped on with tons of snow that day. Secondy, I'm having a baby shower for my son and his girlfriend and getting invitations out and things ready for the party - and Christmas stuff too -- well, it's been stressful a little but I'm loving it too. The Baby shower is this coming weekend now. After that, I hope to be back here a little more regularly.

Now, here's a card I'm submitting for The Stamping Boutique's current monthly challenge. I've actually done a couple of these recipe cards recently.

By the way, if you'd like this recipe and can't read it here, let me know. It's great. I get requests for it everytime I take it somewhere.

Tiny Blog Candy offering...

OK.... Here's a tiny blog candy that I'm offering until December 7.
I hope to add some stamped images to this bunch also ( a couple new to me House Mouse and a few others, incuding some CC Designs).

The only thing I ask is that you put my candy up on your sidebar (and I will be checking) and answer this: What is your one cardmaking tool you could not live without? Also, I'd love you to follow, although following is only if you want - not a requirement because I would hate someone to follow and then cancel.

After the first of the year I hope to try and have some tiny candies about every quarter. I just need to go through my stash and come up with things. It may be things that I decide I won't use or maybe even something great that I really like. But I've been very lucky winning candies and I'm very thankful for that which has allowed me to continue with this hobby I love since I've been unemployed so long (nearly 3 years now!)

Now I'm off to figure out how to add Mr. Linky - You may need to come back to add your info into that, along with your answer to the question.

BLOG CANDY IS NOW CLOSED
