a PMS Challenge

Another card for a challenge. This one is using a Grumbly image from PMS that I received from a friend. It's part of the Birthday Wishes for Katie Cotton of Paper Makeup Stamps. I sent a post earlier for her birthday, but just now finished up this card! I think he's kinda cute.

New challenge entry

Well, I've been working on a new card, using a couple of the new images from Simply Sassy Design Studio, and also to meet the challenge at KL Stampin N Scrappin for June, and I think I've accomplished it. Ever since I first saw this image of the girl on the bike, the words to this Melanie song have been running around in my head. Hopefully since the card is now complete, the music will go away too! I think this image is so cute, and I love the birdhouse.
Stop by Simply Sassy Design Studio and check out all the new images. The website is just getting off the ground and new things are arriving all the time. You must go back often to check things out.

Love the carriage!

Here's a card I made with the cute carriage from Simply Sassy Design Studio. I wanted this carriage the moment I saw it, and I had an idea for this card immediately too.
I hope you like it. It's a CAS card, which is my basic style I think. I found this font on the web and love it too. Can't use it very often of course! But it is so appropriate for this card. This could be used for a wedding shower or wedding quite easily.
Get over to the website at Simply Sassy Design Studio and check out the new images that seem to be arriving daily!

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #19!

3CTC19 Here is my entry into this Challenge.

Mine was easy, in fact I won't even mention the state where I'm from since I know everyone can figure it out! It would have been harder for my city.

Out of commission for a couple days...

Just a quick post. I had surgery this morning on my shoulder, so I won't be on here much for a day or two. Hopefully that's all the time I'll miss. I don't want to push things, and although I'm typing on here now, and it's OK, I want to take it easy.

So just remember to come back in a few days and I promise I'll have some cards to show and maybe some other information as well! So settle back and just enjoy your weekend!

Guess What? Well, to keep this interesting...

**Edited to add: Anita won the ribbons for guessing that I was lucky enough to make a design team. More details above.

I'll have some ribbon candy for this guessing game.
I know a secret, but I can't share it just yet.
Hopefully within a few days!
But please, go ahead, guess.
IF someone guesses correctly, and not just generally, I'll bundle up some ribbons around here to send as blog candy. I have a lot of ribbon, so I'll give away at least 10 ribbons, of at least 3-4 yards each.
So go ahead, guess. This will remain open until I am able to reveal the secret.
Come on, what do you have to lose?

Sherry has some candy!

John's card

Well, my baby brother JOHN turns 50 on Friday.

And I couldn't resist.
Here's his card.

Now mind you, I've been through this before and he can't do much to me! And I have an older brother too (who turns 60 this year! - so guess what?!!) Anyway, the family is all getting together Friday night for supper and then coming by my house for Strawberries and Angel Food Cake! His wife is fixing him a coconut cream pie (his fav) and maybe she'll share with us. She makes FABULOUS pies! Really. I'm supposed to find some way to save a piece of it for my hubby.

And by the way, this Friday is my DH birthday too, but he made plans months and months ago to go with his church group friends to a ballgame (which is his favorite thing to do!) I still have to work on a card for him -- but I'll probably make it a sweet one! He's been extra nice to me lately!

Well, this is all I've managed to do today. I have 3 more cards that must be made quickly. But I also applied for a part-time job today too, so maybe that will work out (will cause a lot less card making, but hey, you do what you gotta do!)

Thanks for dropping by the blog today!

Stampin for the Weekend from Dusk to Dawn

Well, I thought I'd give this new challenge a try.
I like most of the card, but not all. I think it's the white behind the purle with the kite. The first thing I thought of when I saw the colors was the phrase I used, and I'm not sure why. But I stuck with it! It's always best for me to do that. Unsure what I'll use this card for, but there is a reason out there somewhere!

Stamp With Us Challenge card

The theme this time is "Congratulations" and I needed one of those for my Aunt & Uncle's 42nd Wedding Anniversary. That's coming up on the 16th I think, so I had to get busy anyway! I think they'll like this, and since it's not usual to send them a card, I know they'll be surprised. I made my Uncle a card for his birthday a couple months ago, and he wrote me an email thanking me for it, maybe that's one way to get correspondence!
Like I always say, that's partly why I got into this, to be able to share my crafting love and make people smile!

My entries in the Blog Hop for the Cure! (CSSFT09)

(Edited) OHHH! I Won one of the Limited Edition Series Mini Stamp Sets! And I've already received the three stamps too! And bless their hearts, the owners (sorry, I couldn't read the names clearly) have sent me an extra set of these stamps to donate to the Oncology Clinic here locally where I'm donating my cards for a raffle! Wasn't that extra sweet! I appreciate it so much! I've had some wonderful comments on these cards, both through this blog as well as a few who have actually seen the cards. I was so happy that I saw this challenge and got to participate.

Well, today I made up 4 cards for the Blog Hop for the Cure challenge (CSSFT09).

This is important to me as I recently lost a cousin to this, and had been sending her cards for quite some time as encouragement. She lost her battle, but for her children and others, the fight continues. I'll donate these cards to a local oncology clinic. To find out more about this blog hop, please go to: http://clearandsimplestamps.blogspot.com/ which is where I learned of it.

Some new cards for challenges

DRSC18 - Challenge - Birthdays

The first card is for a friend who loves her coffee. I think she'll enjoy the card! This second card is for a sister to one of my favorite Nuns! And I needed to get it there in a hurry, that's partly why no fuss-no bother on it. The inside is nice (failed to take a pic of it) and has a faux stitched "live well, laugh often and love much," plus the Happy Birthday.

These cards I made for friends, and they both fit the challenge of DRSC18 for DRS Designs.
I still need more practice in adding additional items to these cards. I usually focus so much on making them fit the person I'm making the card for, that I sometimes don't do "enough" on them. Neither enough layers or embelishments or whatever. So that's my next phase, or attempted phase anyway!
